The Town of Teulon is governed by a Council consisting of a Mayor and four Councillors. They are elected to a four-year term of office, the next election will be held in October 2026. The Mayor and Councillors are elected at large by all voters. The duties and responsibilities of Council is governed by provincial law called the Municipal Act.

Council meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month and Committee of the Whole Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of every month (excluding December), starting at 6:00 p.m., in the Civic Center located at #44 Fourth Ave SE. The public is always welcome to attend in the audience; however, any in-camera portion of the Council meeting is closed to the public to discuss matters as permitted by The Municipal Act. If you wish to speak to council as a delegation, please contact the office at least five days before the meeting and provide the following information:
- Your name and/or name of your organization
- Purpose/topic of your presentation
- Number of people that will be attending
Delegations are generally allowed up to 10 minutes for their presentations. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time, and be prepared for any questions Council may have. If there are handouts, please provide 6 copies to Council for our deliberations.
