Government

A Council consisting of a Mayor and four Councillors governs the Town of Teulon. They are elected to a four-year term of office, the next election will be held in October 2018. The Mayor is elected by all voters while the top four candidates amongst the Councillors are elected. The duties and responsibilities of Council is governed by the provincial act called the Municipal Act.

The current Council with the various boards and committees they participate in are listed below. Please feel free to contact any member of Council or staff with any question or concerns you may have.

Council meetings are the second Tuesday of every month starting at 7:00 p.m., in the Civic Center located at #44 Fourth Ave SE. The public is always welcome to attend. If you wish to be a delegate, please contact the office at least a week before the meeting and provide the following information:

Delegations are generally allowed up to 15 minutes for their presentations. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time, and be prepared for any questions Council may have. If there are handouts, please provide 6 copies to Council for our deliberations.
